Words of advice: If you ever find yourself drinking martinis and chatting with creative, charming digital imaging experts all day long in front of a live audience, I recommend finishing with guests who inspire and keep you laughing at the same time. Such was the case in this, the last of our live recordings from the Eyecandy Sound Lounge during Photoshop World, when Photoshop Diva Katrin Eismann and Notorious American Photographer Extraordinaire Jay Maisel appeared in front of our live audience in Las Vegas to talk with us about photography, photo retouching (or not), and the general state of the photographer’s mind.
Here’s what you’ll experience in this lively loungy episode:
As Katrin puts it, she never met a pixel she didn’t want to change. Meanwhile, Jay never met a pixel. Jay, despite embracing the wonders of the digital age—particularly with the advent of the Nikon D3—eschews all retouching post production (although he lets his assistant process the raw files in order to make prints). Imagine such a purist going tête-à-tête with Deke, our Resident Emperor of Pixel Manipulation.
Fireworks, I tell ya, fireworks. Well, at least a rousing shit-stirring* conversation.
* Profanity inserted to prepare you for the R-rated language ahead in the podcast.
Don’t miss this wonderful discussion with a lounge full of philosophical photographic wisdom. Here’s the regular-quality (128kbps) audio file.
And don’t forget the usual blather: Subscribe via iTunes. Call 1-888-dekepod with your questions. (That’s 1-888-335-3763.)
Thanks again to all those who made our live show so fun and entertaining. Stay tuned for more live and lively fun!
