We kicked off Macworld week last night with an "Ask the Experts" panel at the wonderful independent bookstore Book Passage in Corte Madera. Alan Alda once appeared there, people, Hawkeye himself. And now they can add Deke McClelland to their list of luminaries. Deke joined three other O’Reilly authors—Derrick Story, Mikkel Aaland, and Lesa King—to discuss Photoshop, Lightroom, and other DigiPhoto stuff.
The crowd, as is always the case with this venerable venue, was engaged and ready with some insightful questions. After Deke was done signing books (using his left hand as you can see, which I think indicates either evil or creativity), I had to drag him out because the staff was ready to close. The smell of books was intoxicating him more than the martini I had loosened him up with before the event. (It’s that kind of store, where a true book-lover can get lost for days.)
If you’re in town (and by town, I mean San Francisco) for Macworld (or sightseeeing, or good sourdough, or because you actually live nearby) we’ll be reprising this cast of characters at the Apple Store that we lovingly refer to as "The Mothership" (Stockton at Market), Thursday night (January 8th) at 7pm. Be sure to introduce yourself to Deke and me if you come by.
That would’ve been cool
I enjoyed Derrick Story’s web seminar recently (although the sound was bad) - haven’t heard of the other two. But San Francisco is a great town and that looks like a stimulating happening with some interesting people.
Thanks for the pix. :-)

InDesignCS3 one-on-one
I received a copy for the holidays, and I can’t tell you how excited I am !
I took a course at the local Comm. Coll. last year that used the “Revealed”
series as the class textbook, I have learned more in the first chapter of
one-on-one than I did in any three chapters of “Revealed” !!! You are my
new guru forever !!! Thanks for being you !!!
